Your donations help us support 2,500 cyclists in the community

As a grassroots organisation with charitable aims, we are reliant on the generosity of our community and your donations. Your support helps us to deliver on our mission and continuing our vital work in teaching people from all backgrounds to become self-sufficient and proficient in bicycle maintenance and riding.

I felt I needed to ride because my grandchildren are riding. I can't be going somewhere and they've gone off and left me behind, or I'm trying to keep up because they're riding and I'm walking. It’s been a journey.

A few lumps and bumps along the way. But now that I can ride with them, it feels absolutely fantastic!

Being able to connect with our environment, we know the benefits of fresh air in our lungs, you know, we have so many beautiful green spaces, and our communities are not accessing, they're not working with, they're not connecting to nature

In sessions people tell me training is more of a life lesson, than cycle training because it is based firstly, on confidence.

If you spread confidence it can really change lives, and turn them around and you can achieve great things.

We are overcoming some of the social issues that make women feel unsafe or feel we shouldn't be on the road actually together.

We're getting together and saying no, we can ride….we multitask, carrying our children and our shopping.

Broken Spoke Experiences

Here's what some of our beneficiaries and staff say about their experiences at Broken Spoke:

How does my donation support
the work of Broken Spoke?

As a grassroots organisation with charitable aims, we are reliant on the generosity of our community and your donations make the following possible:

  • £20 can pay for a staff team’s time for an hour

  • £50 can pay for inducting 2 new volunteers

  • £100 can pay for us to run a Beryl’s night, our monthly mechanics sessions for women and trans people

  • £500 covers most of our monthly rent for our beautiful community workshop

  • £1000 would go a long way to covering our staff salaries for a month

Thank you for your support, it really helps us to continue doing what we do best.
