Update from the staff & board of Broken Spoke

Let’s take precautions, work together & act with the most vulnerable in mind.

Like many of you, we are very concerned about the spread of Coronavirus. We’re doing everything we can to mitigate the risk from our activities, keeping a close eye on government guidance, and updating our procedures as the situation unfolds.

As well as the health and wellbeing of our staff, customers, and volunteers, we are deeply concerned about how the virus, and our response to it, will affect our community and the most vulnerable people within it, including our neighbours at Aspire.

Below are some actions we’re taking now to minimise risk of transmission.

We are CLOSED this weekend.
We have cancelled all volunteer activities until further notice including Bike Recycling on Mondays and volunteer support for the Open Workshops.
We’re currently planning on running scheduled mechanics courses and our event with Jools Walker & Emily Chappell on Friday 20 March. This may well change, so keep an eye on social media and your inbox for updates.

In the workshop we’ve increased hygiene practices and we ask that you help us limit risk by staying away if you have any symptoms, washing your hands regularly, and by following all updated guidance from Public Health England.

At Broken Spoke, we understand the power of community. This is a problem that will need a community-wide response, full of love, compassion, and care for one and other. If you want to join us in being part of a community response to Coronavirus, you can register your details via this google form which is being coordinated by The Oxford Hub.

You can expect to hear more from us very soon, and please do take care everybody.

With love, and carefully washed hands,

The Board and Staff at Broken Spoke xx
