Thanks again for the bike course, it was fun and useful and I’ll definitely recommend it to my compadres.Magnus, age 16

I just wanted to write to you specifically to tell you how impressed I was by your course – amazing! You were both so good at explanations, very patient and good fun all at the same time. Your workshop was just the right size, location and very well-equipped (to my novice’s eye!) and although nippy in temperature was warm with welcoming teas and smiles – just what I needed as someone who didn’t have a clue about bikes!

I have been singing your praises to all fellow Oxford cyclists so hopefully there will be some more friendly faces coming through the door soon. Well done guys – keep it going!!

Emily

Had a really great session today and, as always, was given great assistance – this time by Dave and James who showed the usual patience and technical expertise. Was able to put on the new tyres that you kindly got for me some time ago and also changed brake pads so am all set to go for another few miles. Thank you Broken Spoke!!

On a recent Isis Cycling Group ride one of the ladies developed a puncture. Luckily I had taken a spare tube and some tools and with the help of another Beryl’s Nighter we were able to get her back on her bike. So thanks to Beryl’s Night too!!

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the 101 course last week. Elle was a fantastic tutor and the course was exactly what I hoped it might be. I love your setup and the atmosphere of encouragement, and I’ve been enthusiastically spreading the word.

I came last Wed. night to the open night. I just want to say thank you to Elle and all there — it was really great! I was so glad to both improve the condition of my bike AND learn something about it!
Thanks for a great evening.

Thank you very much for the course yesterday and thank you both for finding the time to run it just for us.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself and got a lot from it, a really good introduction to the area. I can say the same for my friend who rushed home and started looking for new hubs and spokes online!

It was great to learn from somebody who clearly has a lot of experience, and thanks for your patience with our many (sometimes off topic) questions.

I think I need a lot of practice now and am sure I’ll be back to the Broken Spoke soon.

Many thanks, Andy.

Dear BrokenSpokeBikeCoop,
Just a quick note to tell you THANKS for a great experience Saturday.
I showed up at noon at the shop on Pembroke Street and was welcomed by Sam.
He gave advice to help me replace the entire drivetrain on my old TREK 1200, to get me up over the Yorkshire hills on June 14th. I volunteered for a charity ride of the first stage of the TourdeFrance and needed improved hill-climbing ability. Now I’m ready!!!

The shop was well-supplied with all tools necessary, cables, cable sheath, bit and bobs to complete the overhaul. But most important, the expert volunteers made it a great experience.

Cheers,
Peter

Hi, Just wanted to say huge thanks to Jamie who took me from a terrified wobbly bike rider to making my first ever hand signal today. I’m still pinching myself to believe that really happened!!

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the course and how great Sam was. I definitely learned a lot and hopefully I will be able to save money on future bike maintenance.

10 out of 10!

Thanks Elle, I thought the course was really great. Such a good feeling to ride away on my self-improved set of wheels and a lot more knowledge about how to look after my bike.
Looking forward to returning for an open workshop as soon as I get a free weekend for some cleaning, greasing, tweaking and replacing my dodgy chain etc.

Thank you!
Jenny
