The calm before the (student) storm (September newsletter)

10 September 2013

It’s the calm before the storm, the peaceful moment before streets are once again filled with the laughter of young adults (erm, quasi-adults) making their way to university classes, pubs, and too many unpaid internships.

August was remarkably busy for a “holiday” month, and the 31st saw our strongest day in the workshop yet! We’re hoping September can live up to it (as long as the rain is kept at bay, we’re hopeful).

This month we’ve got more exciting things than just open workshops. It’s our one year anniversary party (woohoo!) this Saturday from 7-9.30pm, there’s a Critical Mass and talk by Roger Geffen on the 27th, and a host of talks and events to come throughout autumn. Keep reading!

Until the deluge of students arrive, ride on,

Anniversary clues

Its’a’party!

14 September – 7.00-9.30pm

Oh, what’s that? Our 1-year anniversary party is ALREADY in your diary? What are you reading this for? Go tell your friends how awesome it’s going to be!

Also, check out the clues (picture to the left). If you visit all the checkpoints (starting 5pm on Saturday afternoon) and collect the item located at each one you’ll get a prize (inner tubes, patch kits, and keychains are all up for grabs).

Then it’s homemade nibbles, drinks (BYOB), old cycling films, music, and good conversation at the workshop.
